Project: Olympic Swimmer Website
Client: Michelle Weber
After initially meeting with Michelle Weber's marketing team, we were inspired to create a website that showcased her abilities, achievements and community projects to a large online audience. The website also needed to present a safe online shopping experience and online shop with an add–to-cart option, meaning integrations of a secure payment gateway and shopping cart. An SSL Certificate ensures that user-information is kept safe and that the website is performing optimally.
Michelle Weber is a well-known and local Olympic Swimmer who competes in open waters and specialises in 10km swimming events. Her website is clean and modern, serving to represent her participation in swimming clinics and sporting events online, while also allowing her to connect with followers on a more personal level, by creating blog posts. A range of available products can be securely purchased on the website, while Michelle's Share-A-Lane project allows online visitors to book a lane online, or learn more about the initiative.
Our Virtual Designs team developed the website using WordPress, an open-source content management system (CMS), providing Michelle Weber and her team with access to the website backend for any basic changes, such as adding new images, products or blog posts. In order to maintain a professional website appearance with presentable website content, the site was built to be fully responsible and the design can adjust to fit the screen of any device used to browse it online. For a seamless and user-friendly experience, the website navigation was kept simple – the home page scrolls down, while tabs on the top of the page are clear and defined.
